Costume Jewelry Dresses Up Your Casual Look

Sometimes it is fun to step out of your box and mix some looks together that don’t necessarily mix.  But it can be crazy and it can be fun.  While browsing on the internet last week, I ran across these crazy oversize bling type earrings.  They definitely fit the description of “costume jewelry”.  Webster Dictionary defines costume jewelry as “jewelry designed for wear with current fashions and usually made of inexpensive materials such as imitation semiprecious stones.”

I thought it would be fun to combine them with a very casual look of a sweater and hat and of course, a pair of jeans.  The more casual the better.

I found these earrings on Amazon for around $12.  Perfect price and perfect fit.  I still have a lot of costume jewelry going back to  the 1970’s. I still pull some of it out every now and them and dress up or dress down a current outfit.  For me, the bigger the earrings, the better.  Now I know that is not the look for everyone, but there are a multitude of choices to make if you want to put something together.

Costume jewelry is great as earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and pins.  Some thrift shops or the Goodwill have some hidden gems that can be fun additions to your wardrobes.  Best part is you don’t have to break the bank even if you shop retail or online.

So how about it?  Ready to step out in your casual fun look?
