I remember my grandmother always wore paisley print dresses back in the 60’s or definitely something floral. I always equated paisley with senior clothing and now here we go, I am stepping up to the plate. According to Wikipedia, the paisley design is an ornamental design using a a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. It originated in Persia was was worn by royalty as embroidered shawls. It became popular in Western countries in the 18th and 19th century and derived the name Paisley, from a town in Scotland where paisley designs were produced. It became very popular in the 1960’s with the Beatles and the whole psychedelic lifestyle. Prince further paid tribute to it with his Paisley Park Studios. In today’s fashion it is also intertwined with Bohemian style and print. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paisley_(design)
Today we are seeing a resurgence of paisley fashion styles in women’s clothing from dresses to tops and even pants, scarves and hats. I found this cool paisley top on Amazon for under $20, which all of you know by now is about as much as I want to spend for fashion. I am pairing it with some casual jeans for a fun summer look.
I find once I put my mind to seeking out a certain look, as in this case, something paisley, I find it almost everywhere. If you Google “paisley fashions for women” you will be surprised at how much is out there, or just pay attention when you go into stores and you will see it popping up everywhere.
