No Focus….Just Fun!

For this week’s blog, there is no particular fashion focus, but rather just having fun matching style with my granddaughter.  It has been a little over a year now since I made the big move and totally adjusted my life to being with my little one.  This has been a joy and an inspiration to me.  And in many ways has saved me from a move towards a sedentary lifestyle which was not healthy or desired.

One of the best parts of being with her is the many things we do together.  As she is becoming more aware of the world around her, she is engaging more actively and intentionally.  One of the things I love to do is to sing to her with the hand movements.  She is now mouthing some of the words along with hand accompaniments.  “Heads, shoulders, knees and toes”,  “Itsy, Bitsy Spider” and “If You’re Happy and You know It” are some of her favorites.  She will start rocking to the rhythm anytime and anywhere.  And it is very hard not to get caught up with her.

She loves going to Barnes & Nobles Bookstore once a week to their Tiny Tots story time, where once again she sings, listen to a story and colors a sheet at the end.  It is fun to watch her interact with the other toddlers while we adults watch and redirect.

She is so much like a little sponge, soaking up experiences and connecting with them in fun ways.  Right now I have her 3 days a week but soon will no longer  have her, as she will be entering daycare at the beginning of the year.  So then, it will be Grammy’s time to start really engaging with my peers and learning and experiencing new things in fun ways.

Until then, my little partner in crime and I will continue to have fun, coordinate our looks, and engage in fun and new learning experiences.  Inviting the world into the life of a toddler is so much fun!
