Scarves…Versatile and Fun!

In this blog I would like to share with you some of the benefits of having scarves in your wardrobe.  I know I have loved scarves for many years and have gotten quite a collection.  Often in my travels, I will buy scarves to add to my increasing  stockpile.  So why do I keep buying them?  Here are a few reasons I believe scarves are great to collect.

First of all they are a quick and easy way to change up your look.  Scarves will enhance or accessorize any outfit you have.  There are so many colors, textures, and patterns to choose from.  They can be worn in any season.

Scarves are great to throw in your purse or drape on your shoulder to keep you warm when the sun goes down and the temperature drops, or when you are in and out of air conditioning.  And on the other hand, if you are out in the sun, a scarf can protect you from the sun’s burning rays.

Scarves can be worn a variety of ways.  You can drape them on your shoulders, or let them rest on your arms.  And in addition to those common ways, you can wear them on your head, or even tied at your waist for an accent.

Scarves can be a very inexpensive way to accessorize a look.  The ones I have on in these photos are scarves my kids brought me back from Thailand when they went a while back.  I also purchased several scarves while vacationing in Israel a few years ago and they were as cheap as $5 and up to $20.  I know when I was on vacation in Vegas a few years ago, I picked up a Hermes scarf in an upscale store which had a $900 price tag.  Needless to say, I quickly put it down.  No way!  But in my endeavor to keep my purchases under $25 when I shop, finding affordable scarves is quite easy.

Last, they are great for any age.  Years ago when we thought of scarves and shawls, we often thought of elderly people.  Well, if you look around, you will see all ages wearing some amazing scarves in very creative ways and age is not a factor.  So make this an addition to your look.  Dare to change things up and start rocking your look!
